The phones start at $20 and go up to over $80. The basic phones are great if you just want to call and or text. No pictures no internet just a phone. If you are comparing a New or Refurbished phone from Net10.com remember that they come with 300 minutes and two months of service for free when you activate them. If you are comparing to most other prepaid phones subtract $30 from the price of the Net10 Wireless phone because of the free minutes. Usually the Net 10 phones are the best value in prepaid phones.

Most of the Net 10 phones charge .5 units per text to send and to receive. The Samsung R451c and the Samsung T401g are only .3 units to send and receive texts.

*Can I use my Tracfone Prepaid Wireless Phone for Net10 Service?

No, only Net 10 phones will accept Net10 Wireless phone cards. You might think that since Net 10 is owned by the same company (America Movil) as Tracfone Prepaid Wireless they would be interchangeable but they are not.

Can I use my Straight Talk Phone as a Modem?

What is the Connection linking Straight Talk, Net10, Verizon, Walmart, America Movil and Tracfone?

Straight Talk is a joint partnership between Tracfone, Walmart and Verizon. Tracfone is providing the cell phones, customer support and firmware (the proprietary software that manages the phones.) Verizon is supplying the Cell phone Tower network (one of the largest networks in the United States). Walmart is supplying the marketing muscle by selling the phones in over 3200 Walmarts in the US. There are some regions where the Verizon network does not work very well and the stores in those places will not be marketing Straight Talk phones.

The connection between Tracfone and Net10 is they are both operated by America Movil. They both utilize the same customer service. Tracfone and Net10 phones use the same software and they both sell GSM and CDMA phones. Straight Talk uses the same customer service as Net10 and Tracfone.

Straight Talk only uses the Verizon network whereas Net10 and Tracfone phones will roam on over thirty different cell phone networks. Since Straight Talk does not roam off the Verizon network and both Net10 and Tracfone do you should get better coverage and fewer dropped calls with Net10/Tracfone.
Walmart appears to be a principle in the Straight Talk business. Walmart sells Verizon, Net10, Tracfone, Straight Talk and other cell phones.
