Prepaid Plans
Net10 Prepaid has two plans for its subscribers; the Easy Minute Plan and the Unlimited Plan. The Easy Minute Plan has a flat rate of 10 cents per minute in all of its calls. Minutes can be added to accounts by simply loading prepaid phone cards. Its Unlimited Plan is for $79.99 a month that covers unlimited domestic and long distance calls as well as text messages.
Pros and Cons
Customers may love the flat rate of 10 cents by Net10 Prepaid but their network coverage is not that wide compared to other wireless service providers. The basic 10 cents per minute plan doesn’t offer any nights and weekend unlimited service. For those who make frequent calls and send many messages within the calling area of Net10 may find their Unlimited $79.99 very beneficial. For those who may send messages or call outside the coverage area will find the monthly fee too expensive.

The basic plan for Net10 Prepaid charges 10 cents per minute for all calls. They Subscribers under the $79.99 plan can enjoy unlimited calls for local, long distance and roaming.
Data
At this time, Net10 has no available mobile web access to offer for its subscribers.
Text and Picture
Text messages cost 5 cents per message for both sent and received. Picture messages are not available for everybody; this requires phone compatibility. Picture messages for both sent and received cost 25 cents per message. Messages are not included in the plans even for Unlimited Plan of Net10 Prepaid, hence these rates are charged and deducted from the accounts.
International
Net10 offers very low international calling rates for 5 cents per minute but subscribers have to register to this service by calling their customer support. Reminded that standard airtime rates are also charged per minute aside from the 5 cents per minute. They also have another plan, International Neighbors for those who calls Canada and Mexico where a Net10 local number is designated to avoid high calling rates for international calls.

Minute Expiration Rules
Net10 Prepaid has a very good minute expiration rule; subscribers can utilize their minutes knowing that rates are just for 10 cents. The earliest time that minutes would expire is for 60 days and can last up to 2 years for 4,000 minutes. For the Unlimited Plan, minutes don’t have to expire since the monthly fee is for unlimited calls.
Customer Service
Net10 customer service provides a toll free number for any assistance Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., Eastern Time. On Sundays consumers can call from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Eastern Time. Subscribers can submit a trouble ticket to their technical support team.

The Tracfone Straight Talk programs are designed to be competitive with 2 year contract mobile phone plans. A long term contract cellular phone plan will require you to sign a one year or two year contract to get service. Straight Talk is prepaid so you make payment for for your service prior to using it and if you utilize all your minutes or the time period expires you lose cell service. You will not have a termination fee and if you want to restart service just as before you will have to buy a Straight Talk Prepay cellphone card and reactivate your mobile phone.
Straight Talk Wireless is a joint venture between Walmart, Tracfone prepaid and Verizon. All phones are CDMA and work on the Verizon Wireless network.
Walmart Straight Talk has 2 programs the $30 per thirty days All You Need plan and the $45 per 30 days Unlimited plan.
Straight Talk All You Need Plan
This plan offers 1,000 minutes per 30 days, 1,000 texts per thirty days and 30 meg of data per thirty days. This Straight Talk Wireless plan will cost you $30 per month.
Straight Talk Unlimited Plan
This Straight Talk Prepaid program offers unlimited calling, unlimited text messaging and unlimited data for $45 per thirty days.

I think NET10 is one of those little jewels that is great for some consumers, particularly those who don’t spend loads on minutes talking or texting. For instance, at .10 cents a minute a user can talk up 150 minutes a month for just $15. This requires careful evaluation of why you’re making the calls in the first place. If it’s just for emergency use or the casual call, then NET10 is definitely a good deal. This might be a great phone for young kids, senior citizens who might not want to deal with all the constant conversations or as a spare for traveling within the US, to keep calling expenses to a minimum. The phones are of good quality and the minute cards are available just about anywhere, though it’s really simple to replenish online. All in all, this prepaid phone is a great deal all around, but it has to fit your life style.
I got a net10 phone after I lost my iphone and I Loved it ever since. With no contracts and no bills there is No Evil. Literally.. I am saving soooo much money and have a great phone. What more would I need? I got the Motorola EM326 and it has games, web, just everything I could need. I spend like 30 dollars a month on my phone a month at most which is a far cry from that ridiculous over 100 bucks I used to spend!
For a go to phone, the net10 plans are pretty good. I gave one to my dad (who just turned 75 btw), so that I could check in with him when he is not at home. I paid the $200 and that will give him 2000 minutes and they won’t expire for a year, unlike most other pay-as-you-go plans. Really, I just need him to have a phone in case he has any troubles or if I NEED to reach him. 2000 minutes will be more than enough, and the phones are easy to use. Other than that, its a basic pay as you go plan, but it is simple and to the point. Exactly what he needs.

When I signed up for Net10, they gave me 300 free minutes. I’m still getting used to not having web browsing, but I’m saving enough money every month to counteract that.
Hey Dave, thanks for the review. I was looking for a phone for my 12 year old and this one seems to be one that should fit his needs (calling his mother and me when soccer practice is over). I really didn’t want to spend $200 on minutes, but after crunching the numbers, it just makes sense. It averages out to about $16 a month, plus the cost of the phone. Really there is NO other plan that is this cheap. Good plan if you really don’t use the phone too much.
Im a strong proponent of prepaid and net10 in particular. I use my cell phone mainly for emergencies and am a light talker, I only use about 150 minutes a month, so that plus the 15 a month for service, my monthly bill is only about 30 bucks much cheaper than 80 i was paying with a contract. There are prepaid plans out there for those who talk more but for the light talker like me, net10 is perfect and i love it!
I have Net10, live in Miami and never have problem with the service area. I like Net10 b/c the plan is simple, the phone (I have the LG300) is easy to use plus with the 300 min. and 2 months of service upon activiation, I basically got a free phone. Paying $15 a month is great!
